I want to thank my representatives in Olympia, on the Snohomish County Council — especially John Koster — the Tulalip Tribes’ Boom City, and about 6 percent of my neighbors for making New Year’s Eve this year the worst I have experienced in my 58 years. I am sure other pet owners, the pets themselves, veterans dealing with PTSD, and the wildlife would like to thank you, too.
The fireworks started at 4 p.m. and did not stop until sometime after 1:30 a.m. I am not talking about an occasional show of color in the sky. I am talking about endless explosions that were enough to shake the windows for well over eight hours. Something has to be done when the whims of a few people destroy the peace of many and turn holidays into nightmares.
