Pay raises! (July 11 article, “County’s top officials’ pay gets review”).
I thought I would write a little note to our elected officials about pay raises and paychecks, period. A few months ago a new payroll system was put in place for all Snohomish County employees, where all employees are paid every two weeks instead of monthly, a good idea. It has turned into a nightmare, however. Sometimes they owe you money for overtime, sometimes you owe them money because they overpaid you. So, you really don’t know if you got enough money to pay the bills or not.
So, instead of trying to figure out how much of a raise our elected officials should get, why don’t you council people put your heads together and figure out a solution to our county employees’ dilemma about our payroll system, please.
