I had to respond to your June 14 front page headline (“We’re out of shape”). The information put the blame of obesity on consumption of food and lack of exercise.
I would like you do a story on high fructose corn syrup. This is a very dangerous product used in the making of almost everything we eat. It depletes the body of minerals, which leads to poor mental health, heart disease, cancers, and type 2 diabetes, to name a few of its dangers.
I wonder why the surgeon general has not warned the public of this product, as well as requiring warning labels on all products that contain high fructose corn syrup. When dollars are more important then health, the leadership in this country has failed the people.
