Our country is at war. Thousands are being wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. The unemployment figures are rising daily. Fuel costs are out of sight. The cost of living has reached new highs.
So what is the media telling us? A basketball club may move to Oklahoma. The owner of the club sold the club to a group in Oklahoma, and now he wants it back. With all of the concerns we have today I just cannot believe the amount of newspaper print or television time being spent on the fate of this club. Are we so immune to bad news that we no longer want to be reminded of its existence?
The media would better serve us by advising us how we can cope with the real problems of the day. Losing a basketball club of millionaires is not going to help us get through our problems.
