Last year, I emailed the principal of Mount Vernon High School about a classy community service gesture his football team did by picking up trash at our stadium in Snohomish after a football game. I saw it again last Friday night at our Homecoming game at SHS. After a hard-fought game that Snohomish won in overtime, our players went to the locker room after singing the fight song to our fans. Mount Vernon’s coaches met with their team on the field. Immediately after their meeting, they headed up to our stadium (again) to pick up trash, in full gear, exhausted from the game, but still wanting to do good.
They did good, picking up trash and encouraged others to pick up, too. What a classy group of young men.
