It’s time to just say it. We were much better off before we had to have health insurance.
When I was a kid, no one had it. We didn’t need it. We still don’t. We’d be a lot better off if no one carried anything but inexpensive, high deductible, catastrophic coverage. For everything else (99 percent of care), it would be pay as you go.
Prices would drop like a rock! I’ve had friends who are doctors tell me they could charge as little as $25 for an office visit if they didn’t have to deal with nightmare insurance companies.
You know, without health insurance, maybe we could actually afford medical care.
