In regard to Julie Muhlstein’s Wednesday column, “Summertime isn’t free time for kids anymore“: I agree, it is a shame most kids can’t have the old-school fun we used to as kids in our generation. She touched me with her words
.
I am so appreciative I am a stay-at-home mother, live at the beach and my son and one of his best friends (who I will be watching for a fabulous best friend of mine) will be skipping rocks, playing on the beach, riding bikes and scooters and playing at the park. In our economy, I feel for the parents who have to work and pay for summertime activities. In four words, our family is fortunate. I was glad to remind myself of that today. Thank you, Julie.
