May is officially Foster Parent Appreciation Month. But we at Catholic Community Services are full of appreciation every month for the hard-working, loving, dedicated families who step forward to welcome children who are in foster care into their homes.
These children come with a variety of needs – some are frightened, some sad, some angry; some have a difficult time making good decisions, being responsible, behaving appropriately or doing well in school due to the issues they’ve had to deal with in their young lives. Others are outgoing, well-behaved, bright, social and fun to be with. Most are a combination of all these things. All are in need of love, stability, a place to call home – whether for a day or for a lifetime. Our foster parents provide that safe haven.
We thank each of you with tremendous gratitude for opening your homes and hearts to children in need. We welcome others who may want to become foster parents to contact us. The need is great; the rewards are greater.
