Franklin best suited to lead Everett as mayor

I enthusiastically support Cassie Franklin for mayor of Everett.

Of all the candidates, Cassie has the freshest ideas to confront the issues that face Everett today and the vision to lead Everett tomorrow. Look, we all know that Everett isn’t perfect; homelessness, drug addiction and crime are topics of many conversations these days. But if you love Everett like I do, and like Cassie does, you know that these problems aren’t insurmountable. With the right leadership team in place, we can get Everett to that next level that it’s destined to be. Cassie is the right person to be steering that leadership team.

There’s this saying when dealing with a crisis: When the sink is overflowing, of course it’s important to mop up the floor, but it doesn’t help if you don’t turn off the faucet. All the programs in the world to address the homeless will only help so much if we don’t break the cycle of homelessness from its sources. We’re just watching the sink overflow and trying to clean the floor with a saturated mop. Cassie has been working tirelessly to stop homelessness at its source through her work at Cocoon House.

The people of Everett have every right to be proud of their city and the future that lies ahead of us. From a revitalized and expanding downtown to new commercial air service. From Silver Lake to the growing and exciting Waterfront Place. Cassie has my vote to lead the Everett of tomorrow.
