I thought I’d take a moment to comment on the plight of Dean and Anne Essex (“City looks gift horse in mouth,” Local News, July 15). It brings me to something my father taught me: “People do things for their own reasons.”
Why are they being so generous? They seem to want to make a lot of cash to develop the hill above the pasture. They can’t now because of the current zoning. I’d say, let’s leave it that way. When they move out of Washington, we’ll be stuck looking at 135 houses on that hill near the river, where there should only be five. Maybe I should take a picture of me standing by the river with a beautiful landscape of 135 houses in the background!
Wow what a beautiful site. If you want to see a lot of houses on a hill, just look at Issaquah!
