It is one of the small delights of my day to receive my Daily Herald. In this time of unprecedented uncertainty, to see the newspaper in the box is somehow comforting.
I am grateful to you for doing what you have to do to keep the news flowing. At this time in our country when some of our leaders have no regard for proven truth and practice a daily litany of lies and misdirection, it is our duty as Americans to seek out the truth for ourselves. We must find varied sources and varied attitudes, then read, listen and make our own decisions.
A president repeating the same untruth over and over thinking to hypnotize the masses into believing it, is an old trick of some of the world’s worst despots. A free press is essential for citizens of a free country. When someone wants to limit that, be afraid. Be very afraid.
