Benjamin Franklin, one of America’s founding fathers, an educated economist and scientist, a seasoned statesman and diplomat and one of the authors of our Declaration of Independence, as well as the Constitution, the Treaty of Alliance, amity and commerce with France and the Treaty of Peace between England, France and the United States, said it best:
“They that can give up essential Liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”
The United States needs to take an unshakable and unwavering stance always and against any thought of eroding our core values of freedom and liberty. This is the foundation of our country. If Benjamin Franklin isn’t turning in his grave given the recent events, then the lid must be rattling.
