I have thought for a long time that the trouble with the world today is we all have too many choices. On a recent trip to the grocery store to buy a loaf of bread I counted 43 different kinds of breads, not counting hotdog and hamburger buns.
Beyond white, wheat and rye, what else is there? Who needs bird seeds and twigs added to all the loaves in order to have a total of 43 kinds? Breakfast cereal is another area that’s gone crazy. Sixty-seven different varieties were counted that afternoon and no doubt more has been added by now.
I’m smart enough to know that it’s all a merchandising ploy but I think too much is way too much. To show how I feel about it, I just had a bowl of corn flakes and a piece of white toast.
