The public golf courses aren’t making money since the golf boom of the early ’90s. (Why should a public golf course have to make money?) We need grass and open space.
Archbishop Raymond Hunthausen, who died in July, was an anti-nuclear activist who got disgusted when he found out that the missiles on one Trident submarine could equal the damage of 2,045 Hiroshimas. And we spend more on defense than the next 14 countries combined.
So, let’s decommission just one of those 18 subs we have and put the money toward parks departments! Problem solved.
