Regarding the Nov. 4 article, “Eyman plans next initiatives,” I am one of the many voters who defeated Initiative 892. While giving Mr. Eyman credit for figuring out – at long last – that if we expect to have government, we must expect to pay for it, unleashing gambling in our state is not the answer. It simply avoids spreading the tax burden among all of us and puts it on the few who think slot machines are fun, or those who are addicted to gambling. Whatever he does, I hope he will try to come up with an initiative that will give our government money to provide the services we want, while not preying on the weaknesses in human nature.
