Generosity brings Christmas for many

With a humble heart, the staff of the Maltby Food Bank sends a big thank you to our community. You heard our cry for help and blessed us beyond anything we dreamed. Thank you for your deeply caring hearts. You filled our shelves with good food, provided turkeys and hams for our holidays, gave generously of gifts for our seniors and toys for our children. Many of you “adopted” our single-parent families, and from long ago experience, I do know these families had a very special Christmas.

Our numbers continue to grow. I am sure we will see more families needing our help during the coming months. We will be able to help stretch their budgets and provide good food for them each week. It is comforting to us knowing we can continue to provide for our clients.

Our seniors were very thankful and humbled to be remembered at Christmas. One gentleman could not believe that someone he did not know would provide a gift for him. This gift was the only one he received for Christmas.

Thank you for helping provide toys for our children. The parents enjoyed “shopping” and picking out gifts for each of their children. Your kindness helped Santa bring extra joy to each family.

We are blessed to be situated in such a caring community that is committed to helping others. You are the key to our success. Thank you for partnering with us to continue to provide help where needed for our families.

God Bless each of you. We hope 2008 brings you great peace and joy.

Fran Walster

Director, Maltby Food Bank
