The reaction this past week to the death of George Floyd, handcuffed on his belly with a knee on his neck, pleading “I can’t breath,” is the straw that broke the camel’s back. The ongoing targeting of people of color which has been encouraged by some people in high places has to stop.
Actually seeing the arrest and death, mainly filmed on the phone of a brave young girl should open everyone’s eyes.
If the police officers involved are not tried and convicted it will be a terrible injustice and I will say on that day, “I’m extremely disappointed in my United States of America, ‘l land of the brave and the free.’”
I will cry and I will be sorry I’m white on that day.
