Hard to believe anyone would advocate getting involved in yet another Mideast dispute, which has now turned into a full scale war. Nobody wants us there except the losing side in a conflict. Then we get involved and end up making enemies of everybody. Now we know what a cop feels like trying to break up a domestic dispute.
There are, of course, situations in which we will have to react with military force, such as an attack on us directly. Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan did that. If anybody should have been attacked after 9/11 it should have been Saudi Arabia as 19 of the terrorists came from that country. It should be pretty obvious how stupid that would have been. As long as the U.S. persists in acting as the world’s policeman nobody else will. Take part in a UN action? Absolutely, as long as the rest of the nations have considerable amount of “dog in the fight.” Your turn, Europe, you are the ones depending on Libyan oil. We’ve got enough enemies in that part of the world.
