Gift card helped provides our family’s Christmas dinner

I need to thank The Daily Herald and an angel for the gift card my family received. After I sent the letter in ranting about late-night host Steven Colbert and his millionaire budget buying Powerball tickets, while I have a disabled wife and a stack of cancer bills I forgot about it and we got back to trying to enjoy the spirit of Christmas.

My wife and I rounded up some food to give to the food drive at the First Security Bank in Mill Creek and we stooped by Walmart and picked the name of a 9-year-old boy from their giving tree. The boy wanted a new baseball glove for Christmas. We bought him the glove and a baseball.

After we got home, we found a letter from The Herald with a gift card inside from an angel that wanted to help us out!

The next day my wife and I were planning out our Christmas dinner and we realized we still needed some more food to finish our meal planning. Right away I started wondering if there was enough money left in our bank account to pay for it? I realized we had the gift card. Feeling a little emotional about the Christmas help we got I went to the store and finished our Christmas dinner shopping!

Thank you to our gifting angel and thank you to The Herald for all you do!

I still didn’t win the Powerball, but I can still dream a little!
