At least 78 percent of Americans are in favor of giving the Dreamers a path to citizenship. We all know that it will cost employers as well as cause a great decrease in the GDP if this country drops the ball on the Dreamers and sends them away.
No one wants to send the Dreamers away, so why is it even a question? Please write your senators and representatives to ask them to push hard for a pathway for the Dreamers to stay in this country, without further harrassment.
If giving Dreamers a path to permanent legal status in the U.S. is so welcomed with such great bipartisan support, why are we delaying? Why are we standing back? Please bombard your senators and legislators with postcards, letters, phone calls and visits to impress upon them the importance and urgency of getting Dreamers a legal path to stay in this country. You can influence this decision by taking action.
I can well imagine if this was the case for my daughter. I would be trying to move the sun and the earth to help her stay here where she has grown up and calls home.
And if that isn’t convincing enough, Dreamers significantly contribute to our economy. About 6 percent of Dreamers have already launched businesses that employ other Americans. One in 10 have purchased their first house.
Dreamers are a success story. We should applaud their courage and determination. We should give them a legal pathway to citizenship and we should do it now.
