I have been a faithful voter for a very long time, never having missed an election, and have always noticed the limited number of women candidates.
This year we have a choice of three candidates for mayor of Everett and two are women. Hooray!
I have made a conscious decision, forevermore, to vote for a woman when a viable choice is presented. If that woman shares most of my values and is qualified, she has got my vote. I urge you to consider the same. We have historically elected white men in most all positions of government from mayor up to president and many lives and communities have incrementally gotten worse.
I think it is time we changed from the powers of men representing everything that we do to giving women a chance. It can’t be worse, and I am optimistic that the change will be for the good of all.
