Being an American is a win-win situation. I remember right after Sept. 11, 2001, when President Bush asked all Americans to have faith in America. He appeared on television and asked us to go out and buy stock. He said don’t let the terrorists win; show them you have faith in the economy, and so I did. I put my life savings of $20,000 in the stock market and today I thank God for Bush’s speech.
Where else in the world can you make all the wrong decisions and come out ahead every time? I can truly say that in America, every cloud has its silver lining. Recently, when I opened my mail, I got the good news. My stocks are now worth $228. I say good news because I can now apply for every government program out there. I can go to college and get degrees, I can apply to H.U.D. and get a house, if need be I can get food stamps and welfare. I’m even in a lower tax bracket. What a great country this is. In America, God moves in mysterious ways.
