I have to say I wasn’t expecting such a “White Christmas” this year!
It’s been awhile and at first I loved it! Then I found myself waking up in the morning and saying, “Enough already!” However, I am impressed with the city of Everett’s capability to keep up with the snow, making the busiest streets manageable. They deserve a standing ovation in my world!
I saw them working through the night and during the day to try to keep up with the snow. I did have to shovel out of my driveway, where they moved the snow, but at the same time I had to realize it wasn’t “all about me” and that the rest of the neighbors were shoveling, too. But — the main streets were manageable!
I did venture out a few times and I found that many people were getting stuck in the snow around Everett, and I was impressed with the number of people willing to get out of their warm cars to help other vehicles get going again. I can’t tell you how many times I saw that. There seemed to be a camaraderie that helped to make the storm a little bit easier to take. In fact, as I started to shovel out my car (with a very small garden shovel), I knew it was going to take me a very long time. I was about to give up when a wonderful man stopped and said “You look like you could use some help here!” He whipped out a big snow shovel and together we got it done in no time! Thank you, Mr. Angel!
In fact, thank you to all the good Samaritans who helped others out of the snow!
Kudos to the city of Everett! You rock!
