A “Nation’s greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.” A wonderful quote that aptly applies to people struggling with health-care issues.
Listening to candidates, I find myself eagerly waiting for any of them to acknowledge the health-care crisis, and tell us their plans for dealing with the health-care crisis. Instead, the battle cry is “dismantle!”
Have they forgotten that a huge reason Obama won, was his health-care platform. He gave people hope. He listened and showed the country that he really got it! That health-care debt is the No. 1 cause of bankruptcy, children go without preventive care, seniors have to decide between treatment and food, the mentally ill go untreated, insurance rates have skyrocketed. We all pay the costs; while we watch our weakest members struggle to survive. It chips away at our quality of life in the U.S.
Yes, the delivery system for the health-care plan has been unpopular, so revise from within. If the Republicans dismantle the plan, when will it be addressed again? Five, 20, 50 years? The people of America need health care and solutions now.
Politicians have compromised their principles to get elected. Do the American people have to compromise our principles and accept going backwards?
Please look at each candidate and ask yourself, “Does this candidate represents what Americans want or need. Will they stand up for all of us and do they have a plan?” Your health may depend on it.
