It sure looks like I’ll be voting a straight Democratic ticket again this year. I can remember in years past spliting my ticket and voting for Jack Metcalf and other Republicans who I thought would represent people like me. These times I sure can’t see any who would.
I am a longtime union member who hasn’t been in any church for many years. I am also amazed at Romney saying he doesn’t have to worry about 47 percent of the people. You wouldn’t hear that from Reagan, Clinton or any other successful politician. What’s really ironic about what he said is many of the people who don’t earn enough to pay taxes were Republican voters. Low-wage earners or retired, I am sure most of them don’t feel like moochers. I am a retired ironworker now but I still pay income tax and I have for about 50 years.
