Last month Congress passed a budget that makes $4 trillion in cuts to programs, many of which boost our families. In fact, a quarter of the cuts were to health care programs. It also paved the way for $1.5 trillion in tax cuts to millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations paid for by cuts to our health care, nutrition and education over the next 10 years.
Senators should not slash funding for programs like Medicaid and Medicare in order to pay for tax cuts for the mega-rich and Wall Street.
The Republican tax plan will raise taxes for millions of low- and middle-income families and take away the health care of 13 million people, all in order to give the 1 percent a $100,000 a year tax cut and make tax cuts for mega-corporations permanent.
The Senate GOP is thinking only about special interests while burying working families.
