Will the last Democrat leaving Washington turn out the lights? That is a familiar 1971 billboard when Boeing lost its SST program. I sense the 2016 election highlights the deepening dilemma of the progressive, liberal Democrat.
Since President Obama was elected, he started with a Democratic majority in Congress in 2008. Wow, the ugly face of liberalism was unleashed. In two years, the House majority changed, then in 2014 the Senate majority also went Republican then (crying heard in the background) President-elect Trump rolled into town. The recent elections have 20 states Republican controlled legislatures vs. five for Democrats and 31 Republican governors to 19 Democrats.
The Democrats missed that the country is conservative-to-middle of the road. Blue collar workers don’t like: being marginalized as racists; manufacturing jobs moving out; ever increasing taxes; global warming hoax; political correctness; inter-city violence out of control; and open borders.
So, I predict Washington will see ever diminishing liberal stranglehold of our Legislature. The liberal agenda only works until our money runs out (ST3, toll roads). The new Republican majority has a big task ahead. If the country will give the new administration a chance and not believe the biased mainstream media, we can see several programs that will stimulate a growth economy, not just printing new money.
