Republicans have been worried to death about what sort of “October surprise” the Clinton administration would conjure up. The first of several anticipated has now occurred with the Clinton-Gore administration’s partial expenditure of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve in an attempt to lower oil prices and raise Gore’s election chances.
An Englishman once observed: “When small men cast long shadows it is a sure sign that the sun is about to set.”
As election day draws near, the undecided voter should watch carefully the unfolding events and make an independent judgment as to how true rings the Englishman’s observation.
