Gough will return professionalism

Having been a resident of Lynnwood for 31-plus years, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly in Lynnwood government. On Nov. 8, the citizens will select a leader for the next few years. In my opinion, the choice is clear.

If you like how the city is currently run, the incumbent, Mike McKinnon, is your choice. That means that you like a circus atmosphere in city government; you like numerous ethics violations; you like the mayor suspending the fire chief and appointing himself as fire chief; you like officials from surrounding cities laughing at the current mayor (believe me they do – I know, they have told me so), then you are not only going to “Like Mike,” but you are going to “Love Mike.”

On the other hand, if you would like to see the city headed by an individual who can return professionalism, dignity and honor to the office, then you must vote for Don Gough. Don Gough knows the difference between a conflict of interest. He will not have an ethics violation, let alone multiple ones! With his extensive legal background, he knows the law. He respects the professional fire and police officers of Lynnwood and will utilize their professional advice, rather than rejecting it to suit the situation. Don Gough brings with him real leadership, which returns common sense to the office. Don Gough is actually sincere in his desire to make Lynnwood a better place for all. The choice is clear on Nov. 8; Don Gough needs to be elected mayor of Lynnwood.
