The Monday Herald editorial faults Rick Perry with self-contradiction for questioning man-made global warming while, on the other hand, he pursued an “untested” medical procedure for his ailing back. (“Man-made back

The man-made global warming movement, by contrast, makes very strong claims about its authority without being held to the body of standards that science, by definition, demands. The true scientific method gives its emphasis to the integrity of methodology, not the protecting of a “desired” outcome. Skeptics of man-made climate change are oddly ridiculed for our daring to question the current politically correct paradigm. Yet science by definition seeks to falsify the very hypotheses it constructs by posing the kinds of experiments that actually challenge them. Research moves beyond seeking for confirmatory evidence to giving consideration to “hostile” evidence as well.
Why then the ongoing failure to note that climate has been changing throughout our planet’s entire history? For example, England does not have a wine industry today while it did in the 1st century. And the most recent ice age didn’t begin its retreat with the birth of the industrial revolution! It is only when the man-made global warming hypothesis includes the above considerations that it can rise to the status of a theory. Therefore, man-made climate change does not deserve the label, “established science.”
