When are “We the People” going to start demanding the government — whether it is city, county, state or federal — do as “We the People” must do, and that is to live within our means?
“We the People” don’t have the option of tapping those who write our paychecks for a “rate increase.” And until that happens, our taxes and “fees” (just another form of tax to feed an insatiable government) will never level off, let alone stay steady or come down.
Government leaders will never get off their heroin-like addiction to tax increases until they are sent in for rehab by the voters. They must be reminded that it is not “their” money they are spending; it is the taxpayer’s money. It is your money and it is my money, but it is not their money.
They are only the stewards of it and should be using it responsibly and wisely. It is called fiduciary responsibility.
