First of all, I consider myself to be Christian as I am not a Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish or a follower of Confucianism. I cannot go along with some Christians, who seem to believe that Christianity is the only “right” religion. Which is exactly what the founding fathers wanted to eliminate when they put those words in the Constitution. The Everett mayor was totally wrong when he claimed in a TV interview that he had a “right” to keep that monument in place. Acting as mayor, he has no rights. Governments have only authority as legislated by “we, the people” – which is spelled out in another part of our Constitution.
