Regarding the Thursday article, “Tribal family calls tobacco sales legal”:
I agree with the tribal family. Tobacco sales on tribal land should be legal, without interference by the state or federal governments.
I believe the raids on tribal business for failure to pay federal or state tobacco tax is just another instance where the government violates “Indian treaty rights.”
In my opinion, like all “Separate Indian Nation Tribal Land,” our government, state or federal, should have no authority over the manner in which a tribe conducts its business.
