Taylor Goebel’s recent article about the connection between an Edmond’s bakery, a Burlington flour mill, and a La Conner grain farmer was enlightening and insightful (“Grain to Table: An Edmonds bakery’s sourdough makes flour ‘go local,’” The Herald, Sept. 27).
Goebel’s work to show the connections between dedicated food producers, agricultural history, national trends toward wholesome production practices and the stresses involved with these efforts helps readers appreciate their region and the food that sustains them. Thanks to The Herald for devoting space to the story and to Goebel for researching and writing such a compelling article.
