Grateful for community place at 10th District Office

Thank you so very much to the hundreds of people who participated regularly and occasionally, at the 10th Legislative District Democratic Campaign Office in Stanwood. This was a community happening and it could not have happened without you. Our efforts resulted in some Democratic wins and some losses, overall we did a good job. So many donated their time to make us successful; all I can say is thank you, thank you.

Early in October, the landlord came into the office. He looked around and said this place is really a community resource, not a campaign office. He said he was amazed; people come in here to get information on candidates and issues, to meet with others who wanted to be involved, to find out where to get or mail their ballots, to find out what to do if they lost or spoiled their ballots. Democrats, Independents, even Republicans came in to find out something they needed or just wanted to know.

10th LD Democratic Campaign office in Stanwood was indeed that, a community place, and it happened because so many people in this community gave so much of their time. Not just to make calls and canvas, but to greet people, to offer a cup of coffee, to research issues, and to have fun doing it, and to meet candidates. Most of the effort was directed at getting out the vote, for everybody to vote. Some of the events we had were just for fun like the Chili & Music all-day music fest with a dozen local musicians, and the ice cream social. We collected new winter hats and mittens for the Family Resource Center and food items for the S-C Food Bank.

Thank you again Stanwood and Camano Island for making this “happening” possible.
