John Lovick has very few skills or qualifications to be sheriff, compared to his opponent. John has never managed an entire police department and thus has never been accountable for such.
Lovick tries to infer that he has the experience for the job. He states his working 31 years on the street as a trooper for the State Patrol qualifies him. Traffic has little or nothing to do with the huge requirements needed to run an office with hundreds of officers.
On his Web page, Lovick mentions his leadership skills as serving the community and his family. He doesn’t mention how, but does say he has been leading through doorbelling with his grandson and cooking in the kitchen. These are certainly not the skills that are essential, or that the sheriff job demands.
Lovick’s job as district representative also has very little to do with the running of a police office that takes care of an entire county’s public safety. Passing legislation does not compare to the hands-on day- to-day efforts required as sheriff.
On the other hand, Tom Greene has been a leader for many years and has the necessary credentials to prove it.
While in the Sheriff’s office, Tom has over 20 major leadership issues he has personally managed.
Tom Greene is the real leader here and is the best man for Sheriff. By his past and direct involvements as Bureau Chief, he has already shown it!
