I have been hearing and reading lately from our chosen representatives about the state’s concerns about the lottery and their lack of getting their fair share of the gambling dollar in the state. I would like to offer a solution to their dilemma. They should continue with just one winner until the jackpot reaches $10 million. At that point they should then split the jackpot and offer 10 $1 million winners.
In theory, this would generate more players with the possibility of there being 10 winners instead of just one. They could continue this formula, so when the jackpot reaches $15 million there would be the possibility of 15 $1 million winners and so on at $20 million, etc. I know that if I had more of a chance of winning a million dollars I would be more inclined to fork over a couple of bucks at the chance to win. I think I could survive on a million dollars or about $40,000 a year for the next 20 years.
