I have known Ed Hansen a very long time and know him to be one of the good guys. He doesn’t deserve the unkind remarks made by a letter writer and columnist Julie Muhlstein. Ed Hansen was not born into wealth. He has a brilliant mind and worked very hard to earn his success. The beneficiaries of Ed’s success were not only his family, but many others in the community.
I know Ed to be an honest man whose philanthropy has helped countless kids and young adults with no strings attached. His exuberance for Husky football may have caused him to write an e-mail that he may regret, but from all I’ve read in the newspapers, University of Washington President Mark Emmert didn’t even recall reading the e-mail.
Don’t let this one e-mail color your perception of Ed Hansen. He is still one of the good guys.
