I am so happy to see the return of live theater in Everett! Village Theatre’s “Songs for a New World” is a wonderfully produced, thoughtful production that explores themes of grief, loss and conflict with the constant that helps us get through hard times: community.
The incredibly talented cast of four brings to life a diverse array of characters in 15 songs. The one I can’t forget is “Christmas Lullaby” by Maria Habeeb, while my husband’s favorite was “I’d Give It All for You” by Alexandria J. Henderson, who played Lorrell Robinson in Village Theatre’s “Dreamgirls.” Cal Mitchell and Tyler Dobies round out the cast, and all bring flawless voices and compelling presence to the stage.
“Songs for a New World” is a timely celebration of coming together in trying times. Thank you, Village Theatre. We missed you.
