On ABC’s “This Week” recently, host George Stephanopoulos (and former Clinton administration senior advisor) said that Democrats have been angry ever since Bush took the oath of office in January 2000 because they didn’t win. Then he went on to add that Republicans say Bush hasn’t been given a fair chance. The Democrats are allowing anger to control their thought process and are unwilling or unable to see beyond their angst.
During the recent Democrats’ primary that anger came through loud and clear. The comments made by political activists interviewed by the nightly news were particularly disturbing. ne woman came right out and said that she didn’t care who got the Democrat vote. She just wanted to get President Bush out of office.
That woman’s statements indicated she is so full of hatred that she doesn’t care what kind of person she votes for, neither his philosophical political ideals, morals nor integrity. She cannot see beyond her angst.
Unfortunately, there are a lot like her. Anger, venom and rancor have turned into a character cancer and they have lost their ability to think with rationality. If I were a Democrat, I would be very worried. If you are one who sits at home and lets the vocal political activists make choices for you, you should be very worried. Are your intelligence and core values being respected?
Don’t let these people speak for you. They are misleaders. Do not let them mislead you.
Mr. Stephanopoulos is right. We have not given this president a fair chance. He deserves our thanks and support and the opportunity to return our nation to her former greatness, both at home and abroad. I have every confidence he will do just that.
