I attended Gilbert Saparto’s retirement party last month for his departure from Volunteers of America. Having worked for Gilbert and VOA in the early ’90s at the old food bank on Lombard Avenue, I have found hope by helping people in need.
Gilbert and his successor, Tom Robinson, were some of the first people I met when I moved from Hawaii. It was also great to see my former co-workers and the VOA family. To you, sir, I say thank you for being a great leader for the Volunteers of America and a great friend.
