Regarding the Aug. 7 headline: “County housing boom finally fades”:
This is the kind of headline that frightens people and causes them not to buy. What is more correct is that sales are down 17 percent over the hottest, most lopsided market in the county’s history. Sales are not flat, sales are brisk. A 17 percent decrease is a drop in the bucket and really good for the health of the Snohomish County economy.
We have the best economy in the state and all indicators are for continued sustainable economic growth.
Mr. Holden’s assessment that we are leaving a pure seller’s market is true and a great relief to most of us in the business and the thousands of buyers moving into the county.
