He’ll deliver a dose of common sense

A lot of people would like to break the gridlock that exists in Olympia. Before casting the vote, I hope you will turn back the clock eight years and remember the era when the Democrats controlled all three branches of government. Taxes were increased, spending was rampant and partisan politics prevailed and none of the solutions that were promised were realized. The only thing you can count on is less money in your pocket because of their voracious appetite, with greater restrictions and regulations to further stranglehold the economy. Currently the governor is blaming the billion dollar shortfall on the “scapegoat” of Sept. 11, but the reality is that the out-of-control spending hasn’t been curtailed.

By voting to retain Representative Joe Marine (who is endorsed by the Mukilteo mayor and six out of seven Mukilteo city council members), the citizens of the 21st District win by providing an independent voice in Olympia representing our unique needs. He has shown remarkable leadership in delivering common sense approaches to the problems faced in the district as well as for Washington state, without being a rubberstamp for either party. Unfortunately, due to partisan bickering, Rep. Marine was unable to vote to address one of the most predominant issues facing the 21st District – transportation. Organized labor influencing Democrat lawmakers log-jammed the freshman representative’s efforts.

Voting to retain Marine will give him another year to do what he was sent to Olympia to do, represent the voters’ interests, not special interests. Please join with me to vote for Rep. Marine, an independent voice in a quagmire of partisan politics.
