My mother-in-law recently shared an interesting column with me by Christopher Elliott from The Herald that proved to be very helpful. Our nonprofit volunteer group had a major snafu in a scheduled volunteer mission to Dallas, and made some terrible mistakes in booking nonrefundable and nontransferable tickets for the trip.
I had hit a dead end with my two-week-long negotiations with the airline. I was reminded of the column from The Herald by Mr. Elliott and reached out to him for advice. Not only did he quickly respond to us but he gave the airline a “gentle nudge” to do the right thing and a solution was found!
