Herald has helped hold community together

Regarding the pending layoffs of Herald newsroom staff, this is a sad day.

I delivered the Western Sun edition in Lynnwood in 1963. For most of my life the Herald was an important part of life in Snohomish County.

We trusted the news. We need journalists to keep our government officials accountable. I hope a vehicle is discovered that will allow you to impact our county as you have for most of my life. The Herald was part of the glue that kept our community together.

Soldier on, let’s work for a solution that will allow journalists of real news to thrive.
