Herald must honor pledge to impartial reporting

I appreciate the need for a well-informed public. I also understand the need for a “free” press. I assume the definition of a “free” press is publishing the news and with the journalist spin to the news. It is inevitable that a journalist will write their pieces through filters that may not agree with mine.

I am a conservative and, Yes! I voted for Trump. I viewed my vote as a protest vote against the liberal agenda that I see taking over our country. I knew from the beginning that my single vote for conservatism, even with Trump, would be ineffective. Please don’t think of me as a wild-eyed fringe conservative that would seek to storm the U. S. Capitol building. I found that reprehensible. I insist on those that participated in that part of the demonstration being punished to the fullest extent of the law. I also expect the same for those that took over Capitol Hill this summer. Both events are in my mind insurrections, plain and simple.

The Herald recently stated that they were devoted to giving the news to the people of Everett and Snohomish county. I had hopes that would be the start of something better and more inclusive of all views in the county you cover. Unfortunately, I am disappointed.

The Herald continues to publish cartoons, news items in such a tone that denigrates the Conservative and the Republicans. I ask that you honor your commitment to fair and impartial reporting. It seems to be completely one-sided now, especially the political cartoons.

Please keep your reporting and editorials respectful of those that are in the minority in Snohomish County. That is, conservatives and Republicans. We love America and are not the lunatics that you portray.
