I am always amazed by your newspaper’s double standards! Many of your editorials have decried the request for the private sector to have the same types of machines the tribes have because if the Legislature allows this, there will be crime, corruption, people will lose all of their household money and the children will be scarred for life!
However, when the tribes open a $47.8 million casino with 2,000 slot machines, you call it economic expansion? In fact you ran several days of free advertising for them with your news articles. Double standard.
Of course, there will be no crime or corruption and no one will lose their household money or the tribal children will not be scarred for life. Double standard?
Then you ran an article on learning the basics of gambling before going to the casino. Double standard.
Do you want expanded gambling? Of course not, yes, only if it is at tribal casinos? Hypocritical? Yes! Double standards? Yes! Please tell your readers why your paper has this double standard.
