Here’s a deal to end shutdown that both sides will love, hate

To prevent the federal government shutdown from continuing until the 2020 election I propose a solution that both Democrats and Republicans will equally love and hate (which is the definition of a perfect solution).

Congress gives the president $5 billion for Trump’s wall. In exchange, the federal government immediately grants U.S. citizenship to all DACA registrants and anyone who has been illegally in the United States for at least ten years (and can document the fact) and green cards to everyone else who is currently in the U.S. illegally. Both sides get what they want and what they don’t want. Both sides can declare victory.

It is the perfect solution. Or we can wait until 2020. Just don’t expect any federal government services in the meantime.
