Hey, Martha!

Hey, Martha!

It’s a good thing: An Oak Ridge, Tenn., man won his court appeal and can keep a toilet in his front yard as a planter, after the city cited him on a rubbish violation. To celebrate, the man said he might flank his driveway with two more commodes.

As a landscaping feature, porcelain has a certain charm, but we’d advise against it for those who live across the street from taverns and potty-training toddlers.

The air freshener is working fine: While you probably don’t need to change your oil every 3,000 miles, one automotive expert says there are a few things you ought to check at least that often, including the level of your wiper fluid and coolant and the tread-depth and pressure of your tires.

One more bit of advice from The Buzz’s grease monkey pal, Sparky: “Make sure that the black electrical tape is firmly fixed over the ‘Check Engine’ light on your dash.”

What would Scooba do? A consumer test of iRobot’s latest home robot, the Scooba 230, which washes kitchen and bathroom floors, showed that the Roomba’s cousin did a satisfactory job of general cleaning. But it didn’t have the elbow grease to clean up common spills.

However, tests showed that the Scooba did an excellent job of freaking out family pets.
