Was The Herald asleep? Not a single word on June 6 about how important June 6, 1944 was in history.
I believe veterans throughout Snohomish County and to the far reaches of The Herald’s readership have been slighted by The Herald’s failure to make note that June 6 was the 57th anniversary of the D-Day on the beaches of Normandy, France.
I surely remember it as I was there hitting Omaha Beach early that morning.
I’m certain there are plenty of veterans here in Everett who took part that bleak day June 6, 1944.
Thanks, Herald, for your foresight in not making at least a footnote of this date.
